Learning with songs: A Song to Remember

An artist is his work, and that is what I want to remember when I think about Michael Jackson. After his sad death, I have listened to some of his songs and I have come up against his favourite song, Smile composed by another genius, Charles Chaplin. Smile is apparently a simple song, but if you pay attention to its lyrics, you will realize it is a breath of optimism. While you are reading and listening, don't forget to...smile. (Rosalín, darling, what else can we do??)

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by...

If you smile
With your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile if you'll just...
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you'll just...

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by...

If you smile
Through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you'll just Smile...

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you'll just Smile
